Report - April 2024

This report presents the results of a survey conducted in February 2024 by the ORX Cyber Community and the ORX Data Science Community. It includes key points discussed in both communities, as well as additional resources from ORX pertaining to artificial intelligence (AI).

The ORX Cyber Community brings together all elements of the ORX Cyber service for our subscribers and is how our subscribers get involved in ORX Cyber activities.

The ORX Data Science Community is open to all ORX members who are interested in the topic of data science and its application in operational and non-financial risk.

The survey involved 36 participants representing 26 banking and insurers, allowing us to compare views across organisations and roles.

The study focuses on:

Key risk and concerns associated with generative artificial intelligence (GenAI)*
Risk management considerations, including on risk oversight and governance
The current use of some mainstream GenAI tools within the surveyed firms
