We are delighted to announce Dr Luke Carrivick has been appointed Executive Director at ORX

Lisa Broomer, ORX Chair and Managing Director at JPMorgan Chase comments:

“We congratulate Luke on his new role as Executive Director and are excited to have him lead ORX on the next stage of its journey.”

Luke has been a member of ORX’s Executive team since 2016, leading the Research and Information department prior to this new role as Deputy Executive Director.

About his appointment, Luke said:

“I am looking forward to leading the organisation into its next phase, mobilising our platform to drive digital transformation across the industry. In 2023, we will be expanding our community for sharing new thinking, data, and best practice – particularly around material risks such as cyber. We will also be adding to our suite of industry standards, publishing a Reference Indicator Library to accompany the very successful Control Library launched in 2022. And most significantly, we are taking both our community and standards to the next level, leveraging them to offer innovative risk technology solutions, such as a new risk control benchmarking application, on our innovation data platform (iDP).”

The appointment follows news that Simon Wills is stepping down after 18 years’ service in the role. Simon will remain in an advisory role at ORX as of January 2023.

Simon has been at the helm of ORX for most of the organisation’s 20-year existence. During this time, ORX has built a membership & subscriber network of 125 banking and insurance institutions and provided the international operational risk community with insight, standards and thought leadership.

Lisa further comments:

“On behalf of the ORX Board and Member Institutions, I thank Simon for the invaluable contributions he has made to the management of operational risk during his tenure as Executive Director. Simon has been fundamental to our achievements as a highly trusted association, and we thank him for expertise and commitment.”
