Our new Chair sets out vision to strengthen resilience, drive digital transformation and expand ORX’s global influence.

As operational and non-financial risk continues to play a more central role in organisational resilience and long-term strategy, we enter our next phase with Giulio Mignola taking on the role of Chair of the ORX Board.

Giulio, who succeeds Lisa Broomer, takes on the position at a pivotal moment for the operational and non-financial risk (ONFR) industry, as it plays an increasingly central role in organisational resilience, strategy and long-term success.

Giulio has been closely involved with ORX for many years and most recently served as Vice Chairman. At Intesa Sanpaolo, Giulio leads the Credit, Enterprise and Operational Risk Management teams and serves as the Group’s Deputy Chief Risk Officer. His responsibilities include defining the Risk Appetite Framework, overseeing operational risk management, integrated risk reporting and stress testing, and managing reputational and ESG risk.

As Chair of the ORX Board, Giulio will oversee delivery of our refreshed strategy, designed to support financial firms in navigating a rapidly evolving and increasingly interconnected risk landscape.

“I’m delighted to be appointed as Chair of ORX at such a transformational time for operational and non-financial risk. Managing these risks is now integral to organisational strategy, resilience and long-term success.
Our updated strategy reflects this shift. Over the next three years, we will focus on leading and influencing the discipline, driving digital transformation, and broadening our reach across the wider risk ecosystem.””

Giulio Mignola, Chair of the ORX Board

Our immediate strategic priorities for 2026 are focused on delivering enhanced insights, improved tools and practical guidance to help operational and non-financial risk professionals strengthen their risk management capabilities in an increasingly complex environment.

“Giulio brings deep expertise, long-standing commitment to the ORX community and a clear strategic vision for the future of operational and non-financial risk. At a time when our members are navigating increasing complexity, his leadership will be instrumental in ensuring we continue to deliver the insights, data and collaboration they need.
We also extend our sincere thanks to Lisa Broomer, whose leadership was instrumental in the substantial progress made during her tenure, and in positioning ORX strongly for the next phase.”
