Jaguar Land Rover loses up to GBP 260 million after cyberattack severely disrupts production
On 31 August 2025, Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), a subsidiary of Tata Motors, suffered a cyberattack which forced the automaker to shut down several systems, including those at its production plants.
A group of cybercriminals, reportedly calling themselves “Scattered LAPSUS$ Hunters”, claimed responsibility for the attack. On 5 February 2026, JLR published its financial results leading to 31 December 2025, in which it states the cyberattack cost the firm GBP 260 million (USD 349.2 million, EUR 299.5 million).
