About the role

The role is an interesting and rewarding opportunity for an enthusiastic and proactive individual interested in supporting and delivering projects that will help solve current operational and non-financial risk challenges.

The Research Analyst will closely support the ORX Delivery team, contributing to the delivery and ongoing development of work across all Delivery programmes, including Cyber and other focus areas. Research activities will include benchmarking and best practice exercises, and original research studies including qualitative and quantitative analysis. In addition, they will support the facilitation of the Working Groups across ORX Delivery team (Cyber and others) and participate in data collection and analysis using tools such as Excel, SQL and R to analyse and visualise data which, together with the individual’s strong writing skills, will help us to communicate research findings in coherent and engaging ways.  

To be successful as a Research Analyst, you should have experience with:

  • Good time management skills, with the ability to organise your work and manage competing priorities.
  • The ability to work effectively and collaboratively across teams, with a willingness to learn from others.
  • Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A relevant qualification, or near completion of a qualification, in an academic discipline such as mathematics, data science or economics (or equivalent experience).

     

  • Some demonstrable experience of working on research projects, for example through academic study, placements or early career roles.
  • Some demonstrable experience of, or confidence in, qualitative and/or quantitative research, including working with and interpreting quantitative information.
  • Intellectual curiosity and an interest in economics and finance, with a desire to build knowledge in these areas
  • Demonstrable experience of data analysis, including the use of software or statistical packages such as R, Excel or SAS.

Interview process

  • 1st stage of interview process will be a virtual call with hiring managers
  • 2nd stage of the interview process will be a formal interview with the hiring managers in person in our central office in Bath. There will be a task at this stage
