Scenarios Community Discussions: Roles and responsibilities in scenario planning and identification

The Scenarios Working Group (SWG) sessions held in June were an opportunity to launch a major ORX benchmarking exercise to identify and compare industry trends in scenario operating models, governance approaches, and roles and responsibilities.

These initial discussions provided a forum for sharing current practice in the allocation of responsibilities at the cycle planning and scenario identification stages. Further discussions feeding into the planning work that ORX will be undertaking to prepare for the benchmark exercise (expected to run in 2027) will be held throughout H2 2026.

In this blog, we summarise the key discussion points, including the range of operating models presented, shared challenges, and the support that industry benchmarking could provide in this area.
