With the progress and better accessibility of generative AI models, ONFR functions continue to explore their use in day-to-day risk management activities. The ORX Data Science Working Group (DSWG) regularly discusses member-presented use cases to gather and share ideas around their use.

The use case: Improving control descriptions using generative AI

Focus of the June 2025 meeting was a generative AI use cases aimed at enhancing controls descriptions to better support control performance, testing and assessment. An OpenAI-based LLM model reviews the descriptions to ensure alignment to the 5W, highlighting any gaps for review by control owners and risk managers.
