ORX has provided a capital benchmark report to its banking members since 2010, allowing banks to compare their operational risk capital to their peers.

The capital benchmark provides a unique insight into capital levels. Looking at both the global and regional level, it contains a detailed comparative analysis about the capital held in the banking industry.

Forty-seven of our members took part in the 2024 benchmark. The full reports have been shared with participants through our secure Insight system.

Please note that this year’s Capital Benchmark study was updated via applying a new region-specific standardized approach that reflects the expected methodology in each jurisdiction. The inclusion or exclusion of the Internal Loss Multiplier (ILM) varies across regions, and supervisory discretion regarding its treatment led to significant differences in capital outcomes.
